So during horrendously wet weather this weekend, our last two ewes lambed, one on the morning of the 28th April and one almost exactly 24 hours later. They are both doing well, feeding and standing quickly. The first was a tup, number 7, born to the ewe with one ear tag which we couldn’t get close enough to check the number of and the last was a gimmer, number 8. So we have 5 healthy soay lambs this year, which is great news and we are thankful that we don’t seem to have been affected by the Schallenberg virus that has caused some flocks problems this year.
Hoping the weather gets a bit nicer for them.
