Spring veg planting

A few weekends ago Becky and Katie ( a willing friend volunteer), planted some early crops in the poly tunnel. A mixed lettice seed tap, sugar snaps, purple pak choi and White pak choi, red salad bowl, basil (yes sybil) and corriander.

They also planted a tray of pea shoots for salads and some leeks for transplanting later. Everything seems to be coming up well.

This week we added a few bootfair plants, Kale, boli beans, runner beans and Tomatoes to grow on in the poly tunnel for a few weeks. Becs dug over a bed and planted broad beans and also added another ruhbarb crown to our prolific patch.

I have just cottoned onto a cookery book £25.00, but £14.99 in Sainsburys at the moment, called “Plenty” by Yotam Ottolenghi. Its vegetarian Israeli. Absolutely fabulous recipes using all sorts of combinations, you must have a look at it for your produce. Everything I’ve tried so far has been brilliant, just a vast step forward from most vegi books. XXX
